Job summary

Act for Kids Morayfield is seeking a dedicated Child and Family Practitioner to join the Morayfield Safe Families Team. You will collaborate with professionals to support children and families impacted by Domestic and Family Violence, providing wrap-around services and psychoeducation where needed.

The role requires a tertiary degree in a relevant discipline, professional registration if required, and a minimum of three years’ experience in trauma-informed family work.

Qualifications

• A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services).
• Professional registration (if required).
• Membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
• Safe and Together Training (desired).
• At least 3 years’ experience working with children, young people and their families who have been impacted by trauma or have experienced abuse and neglect, or more than five years’ experience working in similar roles.
• Demonstrated specialist skills in working in family and domestic violence particularly working both with parents who use violence, and those experiencing violence.
• Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure families’ goals are achieved.
• Support the coordination of group training programs within the Safe Families Program.
• Deliver group training programs that provide psychoeducation for families experiencing domestic and family violence such as Women’s Empowerment Groups, Safe and Together, Youth Love Bites, Shark Cage.
