Job summary

North Queensland Domestic Violence Resource Service in Mount Isa, QLD, is seeking a Specialist Domestic and Family Violence Advocate (Level 4) to join our team. You will provide trauma-informed risk assessment, safety planning, and case management to victim-survivors while collaborating with partners.

This permanent full-time role requires a tertiary qualification or two years’ experience in human services, plus strong DFV knowledge, cultural safety, and digital literacy.

Qualifications

• Ter tiary qualification in a relevant human services field and/or two years’ experience in the human services sector.
• Working knowledge of DFV legislation and trauma‑informed approaches.
• Strong communication and cultural safety with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed crisis response with risk and needs assessments.
• Deliver services grounded in a feminist understanding of DFV.
• Coordinate emergency accommodation and home safety upgrades.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for holistic support.
• Assist clients in navigating court processes and protection orders.
