Job summary

Relationships Australia Queensland is seeking a part-time Victim-Survivor Practitioner to join the Cairns Co-Response team. You will provide crisis intervention, intake, and trauma-informed support to victim-survivors of domestic and family violence, working with QPS and community partners.

The role includes evening/weekend shifts with penalty rates, opportunities for professional development, and a strong focus on safety, cultural safety and empowering clients in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in a Human Services field or DFV experience.
• Experience in human services (Psychology, Mediation, Counselling, Social Work).
• Experience providing advocacy, information, referral or counselling for DFV.

Responsibilities

• Provide DFV intake and short-term follow-up with clients.
• Deliver crisis interventions and immediate safety planning.
• Conduct DFV risk assessments using approved protocols (CRASF).
• Offer early intervention and brief DFV counselling and case management.
• Collaborate with QPS and local agencies in a coordinated response.
• Provide specialist advice to QPS to support enforcement decisions.
• Engage in debriefing and reflective practice with QPS.
