Job summary

BG&E, part of the SYSTRA Group, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead civil design packages for major roads, highways and rail projects in New South Wales. The role offers the chance to influence design delivery from concept through to construction with a focus on practicality and constructability.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage design scope, programme and budget, and work with contractors and authorities (including TfNSW) to ensure quality, safety, sustainability

Qualifications

• Seasoned civil engineer with proven Design Manager experience.
• Experience delivering major transport infrastructure projects (roads, highways, rail).
• Strong ability to manage design scope, programme, budget and resources.
• Experience delivering projects to TfNSW or RMS standards in NSW.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; Chartered status desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver transport infrastructure design packages from concept development through to detailed design and construction issue.
• Manage design scope, programme, budget and resources across multiple project stages.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to achieve integrated, practical and buildable outcomes.
• Work closely with contractors, stakeholders and authorities (including TfNSW) to support successful project delivery.
• Review and guide design outputs to meet quality, safety, sustainability and constructability requirements.
