Job summary

Blackbook Recruitment is seeking a proactive Transport Planner to join our client in Sydney. The role involves managing transport requirements from order receipt through proof of delivery, using TMS to schedule and monitor freight movements, and coordinating with carriers to maintain on-time performance.

Candidates should have experience in transport planning or freight operations, knowledge of Australian road transport, and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Experience in scheduling, transport planning or freight operations.
• Knowledge of Australian road transport, carriers, and compliance obligations.
• Experience using TMS or transport planning systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to prioritise in fast-paced environments.
• Australian permanent residency, NZ permanent residency or Australian citizenship required to apply.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily transport requirements from order receipt to proof of delivery.
• Use optimisation and TMS to schedule, allocate and monitor freight movements.
• Coordinate with carriers to ensure capacity, compliance and on-time performance.
• Monitor and resolve operational exceptions, maintain service levels and cost efficiency.
• Maintain accurate data including carrier rates, routes and site information.
• Build strong working relationships with customers, carriers and internal teams.

• Experience using TMS or transport planning systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Well-developed organisational and self-management skills, with the ability to prioritise in fast-paced environments.
• Must hold Australian permanent residency, New Zealand permanent residency or Australian citizenship to be eligible to apply.
