Job summary

Linfox in Cairns, QLD, is seeking a Transport Coordinator to support daily transport operations. You will help manage driver schedules, route planning and customer requirements while upholding safety standards and DIFOT targets.

The role offers a Monday–Friday, day-shift schedule in a busy intermodal team, with opportunities to develop operational capability and progress within Linfox’s logistics network.

Responsibilities

• Allocate daily prime mover movements across deliveries to ensure safe, efficient freight delivery.
• Plan and optimise delivery routes based on rail freight and fleet utilisation.
• Coordinate delivery schedules around customer requirements and DIFOT performance.
• Communicate with drivers, customers and internal stakeholders to resolve challenges and maintain service outcomes.
• Champion safety and compliance, including fatigue management and KPI adherence.
• Monitor operational data to identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency and reduce costs.

What does the job look like?

Linfox’s Intermodal business unit currently have a unique opportunity for a Transport Coordinator to join our team located in Cairns QLD.

As a Transport Coordinator, you’ll work within a close-knit team and play an important role in executing daily transport operatons across customer pickups and deliveries, driver schedules, route optimisation,customer requirements and safety initiatives. With exposure across a broad range of transport operations, this role is a great opportunity to build your operational capability and continue progressing your career with Linfox

This is a full-time permanent opportunity, Monday to Friday, working 7:00am – 3:00pm. Key areas:

• Allocate daily prime mover movements across produce and container deliveries, ensuring freight reaches customers safely and efficiently
• Plan and optimise delivery routes based on freight arriving via rail, balancing fleet utilisation, driver availability and operational requirements
• Coordinate delivery schedules around customer requirements and DIFOT performance, proactively managing changes throughout the day
• Communicate closely with drivers, customers and operational stakeholders to resolve challenges and maintain strong service outcomes
• Champion safety & compliance performance, including driver fatigue management, daily compliance requirements and operational KPIs
• Monitor operational data and identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency, reduce costs and support continuous improvement

• Previous experience in an Operational role within the Transport/Logistics industry
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond to changing operational requirements
• A strong safety mindset, with knowledge of fatigue management, Chain of Responsibility and transport compliance highly regarded
• Confident communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with drivers, customers and internal stakeholders
• A customer-focused approach with an understanding of the importance of delivering freight safely, efficiently and on time
• Confidence using transport systems, operational data and Microsoft Excel to support planning and decision-making
