Job summary

Linfox Intermodal is seeking a Transport Allocator to join our team in East Arm, Darwin. In this fast‑paced, safety‑conscious role you will coordinate daily freight allocations, liaise with drivers and subcontractors, and ensure on‑time, compliant deliveries.

You will use transport management systems and Excel to monitor fleet utilisation, support operational performance, and escalate incidents. A strong track record in logistics, CoR knowledge, and a solutions‑focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport allocation, scheduling or logistics operations.
• Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and fatigue management.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with transport management systems and Excel.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service mindset and continuous improvement focus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily freight allocations, collections, deliveries and changeovers to meet customer requirements safely and efficiently.
• Communicate with drivers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure transport activities meet safety and compliance requirements.
• Monitor fleet utilisation and provide real-time support to maximise service delivery and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with CoR, fatigue management, maintenance schedules and contractor requirements.
• Maintain accurate transport data, records and reporting for visibility and performance.
• Escalate service and safety incidents and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Linfox Intermodal are seeking a Transport Allocator to join our team based in East Arm, Darwin. In this key operational role, you will be responsible for coordinating daily transport activities, ensuring freight movements are allocated efficiently and delivered safely, compliantly and on time. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will liaise closely with drivers, subcontractors, customers and internal stakeholders to support operational performance and service delivery.Key areas:

• Coordinate daily freight allocations, collections, deliveries and changeovers to ensure customer requirements are met safely and efficiently.
• Communicate with drivers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure all transport activities are completed in line with operational, safety and compliance requirements.
• Monitor fleet utilisation and provide real-time operational support to maximise service delivery and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management, maintenance schedules and contractor requirements.
• Maintain accurate transport system data, operational records and reporting to support visibility and performance outcomes.
• Escalate service and safety incidents as required and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Are you the one?

• Previous experience in a transport allocation, scheduling, fleet control or logistics operations role.
• Sound understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management and heavy vehicle compliance requirements.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with drivers, subcontractors and customers.
• Highly organised with excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining a strong focus on teamwork, safety and customer service.
• Resilient under pressure with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
• Passion for transport and logistics with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
