Job summary

MacKellar Group in Queensland's Carmichael Mine is seeking an experienced Training Coordinator to support production and maintenance crews. Based on site, you will coordinate training, ensure compliance, and drive workforce capability across the operation.

Reporting to the Training Superintendent, you will develop training plans, monitor competencies, and assist with QA and training records. This hands-on, field-based role requires strong organisational skills and Australian mining familiarity,

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating training in a mining environment.
• Ability to develop training plans for new starters and existing staff.
• Current TAE40116 and Safety qualifications as listed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating training requirements for production and maintenance personnel
• Developing and maintaining training plans for new starters and existing employees
• Monitoring workforce competencies and compliance requirements
• Supporting trainers and assessors with quality assurance processes and training records
• Identifying gaps or issues that may impact training schedules or site compliance
• Liaising with operational leaders regarding training priorities and approvals
• Delivering field-based training and assessments when required

Join a high-performing mining operation where training, safety, and workforce capability are a genuine priority. MacKellar is seeking an experienced Training Coordinator to support both production and maintenance crews at the Carmichael Mine in Queensland’s Galilee Basin.

This is a site-based role working closely with leaders, trainers, and operational teams to ensure employees are trained, competent, and supported across all areas of the operation.

About the Role

Reporting to the Training Superintendent, you will coordinate site training activities, maintain compliance requirements, and assist with workforce development initiatives across the operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating training requirements for production and maintenance personnel
• Developing and maintaining training plans for new starters and existing employees
• Monitoring workforce competencies and compliance requirements
• Supporting trainers and assessors with quality assurance processes and training records
• Identifying gaps or issues that may impact training schedules or site compliance
• Liaising with operational leaders regarding training priorities and approvals
• Delivering field-based training and assessments when required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Previous experience in a similar Training Coordinator role within mining
• Strong understanding of mining production and maintenance environments
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)
• Current Standard 11 Statement of Attainment
• Current G2 qualification
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Current Driver Licence
