Job summary

Goodstart Early Learning Rutherford is offering a 18-month fixed-term Trainee Educator role, full-time (38 hours/week) at our Rutherford NSW centre. The program funds your training and supports you to achieve a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care while you work.

You will be guided by the Centre Leadership Team and educators, gaining hands-on experience and potential permanent employment upon course completion. Applicants must be eligible to study and work in Australia.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to study towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well standalone and as part of a team.
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
  • Interest in early years education.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe environment for children, families and staff.
  • Contribute to education program in the room and centre team.
  • Comply with NQS and Goodstart policies and requirements.
  • Build positive relationships with children and families.
  • Support reflective practice and ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Pursue training towards Certificate III while employed.

Employment Type: 18 Month Fixed Term Contract – Full Time 38 hours week

As a Trainee Educator at Goodstart, you will be dedicated to giving children the best possible start to their school journey. With the support of your Centre Leadership Team, Teachers, and Educators, you will be empowered to forge your career whilst working towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care.

You will achieve this by:

  • Maintaining a safe environment for children, families, and team members
  • Complying with National Quality Standards (NQS) and Goodstart Policies, Procedures and Requirements
  • Building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with children and families
  • Actively contributing to the education program in the room and the centre team
  • Supporting a culture of reflective practice and ongoing continuous improvement
  • Contributing to a professional and positive work culture

To be eligible for a Traineeship you are not able to hold a previous Certificate or Diploma qualification completed outside of secondary school in the last 7 years. Applicants who have completed a school-based certificateother than in childcare will still be eligible.

In addition, you must have:

  • The willingness and motivation to study towards aCertificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care
  • A permanent right to work in Australia
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Interest in early years education
  • Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training, completed via Geccko platform
  • Proof of immunisation against Measles, Mumps and RubellaandWhooping Cough (Pertussis)(or be willing to receive)
