Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a casual Workshop Trades Assistant to support maintenance of Council vehicles, plant and equipment at the Rooty Hill Depot. The role requires an HR licence and experience with heavy vehicles, wheels and tyres.

You will assist trades personnel, perform tyre work, greasing and cleaning, and operate workshop equipment safely. Working hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, ASAP start through 26 February 2027.

Qualifications

• HR licence – essential.
• Experience removing and fitting wheels and tyres on heavy plant and vehicles.
• Heavy plant or vehicle maintenance experience.
• Forklift ticket – desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support trades personnel with repair and maintenance activities.
• Assist with heavy vehicle and plant tyre removal and fitting.
• Carry out greasing, washing and cleaning of vehicles and equipment.
• Safely operate vehicles, plant and workshop equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the workshop floor and equipment.
• Assist in the tyre bay when required.
