Job summary

Sydney Zoo in Western Sydney seeks a Trade Manager to drive commercial growth through trade, group sales and partnerships while overseeing reservations, group bookings and visitor planning. The role reports to senior stakeholders and requires strong relationship management across business units.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in tourism or related commercial roles, with expertise in pricing, forecasting, and revenue management, plus excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, Tourism, Hospitality or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in tourism, reservations, trade sales, group operations or related commercial roles.
• Experience across business units and interdepartmental collaboration at multiple levels.
• Strong understanding of inbound tourism, group travel and trade distribution channels.
• Experience in stakeholder relationship management and pricing, forecasting and revenue management.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong reporting, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with reservations, ticketing or booking management systems and CRM.
• Workplace Health and Safety responsibilities awareness; Working with Children checks where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial growth through trade, group sales and tourism partnerships.
• Oversee reservations, group bookings and visitor planning functions.
• Coordinate between Group Sales, Operations and Visitor Experience teams.
• Lead pricing, contract oversight and revenue management initiatives.
• Provide team leadership and ensure high-quality customer service delivery.
• Respond to reactive sales inquiries for groups, events and related partners.
