Job summary

Sydney Zoo is seeking an Events & Partnerships Manager to lead activation components of our Events and Partnerships program. You will orchestrate major events like Dinosaurs and GLOW and oversee on-site delivery with key brands and partners.

The role requires a minimum 5 years of experience in events and partnerships, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage projects, budgets and timelines autonomously.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in an equivalent position including end-to-end event management and/or partner liaison.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, internally & externally.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Experience in design and/or orchestration of events and activations.
  • Experience in project management and/or event/activation (client & supplier management, budgeting).
  • Work autonomously as well as under direction.
  • Collaborate well with others and be a strong negotiator and influencer.
  • Multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Paid Working with Children’s Check.

Event & Partnerships Manager at Sydney Zoo

Located in the heart of Western Sydney, Sydney Zoo strives to showcase a broad range of native and exotic animals using technology and advanced exhibit design, with a strong focus on animal welfare, conservation, and educating our visitors about animals and their habitats. Environmental and social awareness play a vital role in our message that highlights the indigenous culture and human influence on the environment.

The Position

The Events and Partnerships Manager is responsible for the activation components of Events and Partnerships at Sydney Zoo. Orchestrating pillar events such as Dinosaurs and GLOW, the role will be supported by others across the organisation to bring key activations to life. Furthermore, the role will lead the onsite implementation of key partner activities, working with key local and national key brands.

Sydney Zoo is open every day of the year and this position will require the successful candidate to work some weekends and public holidays.

Skills, Knowledge, and Relevant Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in an equivalent position which must include end-to-end event management and /or partner liaison.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, internally & externally.
