Job summary

2XM in Queensland is seeking Electrical/Mechanical Trade Assistants to join a well-established workshop team working on HVAC systems within the rail sector. This role provides hands-on exposure to heavy industrial and rail systems in a clean, workshop-based environment, with ample overtime opportunities.

There is potential to go permanent after 6 months for the right candidate, and the team offers a supportive workshop environment and long-term career development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Electrical TA or Trades Assistant.
• Electrical experience is essential for Electrical TA roles.
• Cert II in Electrotechnology highly advantageous.
• Prior heavy industry work (Rail, Mining, Civil) is highly regarded.
• Driver's licence and reliable transport preferred.
• Ability to pass a medical.

Responsibilities

• Assist tradespeople with maintenance, assembly, servicing, and repair of HVAC systems used in rail applications.
• Gain hands-on exposure to electrical and mechanical systems in a heavy industrial workshop.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Electrical TA or Trades Assistant
• Some type of electrical experience or exposure is a must for the Electrical TA roles.
• Cert II in Electrotechnology highly advantageous
• Prior heavy industry work (Rail, Mining, Civil) is highly regarded
• Experience with wiring, electrical assembly, or setting up electrical systems highly regarded
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Strong attitude and willingness to learn
• Driver's licence and reliable transport preferred
• Ability to pass a medical
