Job summary

Talent Focus has an exciting opportunity for a Trades Assistant in Smithfield. This full-time role offers a Monday to Friday day shift from 7:00am to 3:00pm, with an hourly rate of $32.9606 and a base annual salary of $65,130.06 plus benefits.

You will support Service Technicians with disassembly, assembly, servicing and preparation of products. Working under qualified technicians and reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will ensure work is completed to high standards in a safe, organized

Qualifications

• Previous general mechanical experience.
• Practical, hands-on experience in a workshop, service or similar environment.
• Experience working with mechanical products or similar equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Forklift Licence – preferred.
• Previous overhead crane experience – preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Service Technicians with the disassembly and assembly of customer products.
• Clean, organise and prepare parts and equipment
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised workshop environment
• Receive and assist with incoming product deliveries
• Assist with painting and final assembly of products
• Pack and prepare completed products for shipment
• Assist Service Technicians with repairs, servicing and other workshop activities
• Operate plant and equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes
• Follow all company policies, procedures and WHS requirements
• Maintain positive and professional working relationships with Service Centre team members

About the Role

As a Trades Assistant, you will provide hands-on support to Service Technicians with the disassembly, assembly, servicing and preparation of customer products.

Working under the guidance of qualified technicians and reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will play an important role in ensuring products are serviced, prepared and completed to a high standard while maintaining a safe, clean and organized workshop.
