Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a trade, workshop or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Maintenance Supervisors with daily maintenance activities.
• Support preventative maintenance schedules and equipment breakdown repairs.
• Assist with machinery setup, tool changes and basic mechanical tasks.
• Perform basic grinding, drilling, cutting and use of power tools.
• Assist with workshop maintenance, factory improvements and general repairs.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and gantry cranes where appropriately licensed and trained.
• Receive, move and organise materials throughout the factory.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard.
• Complete maintenance records as required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work environment.
• Follow all WHS policies, procedures and safe work practices.

We are currently seeking a reliable and hands-on Trade Assistant to join their manufacturing and maintenance team on a casual basis, with a genuine opportunity to transition into a permanent position for the right person.

About the Role

Working alongside experienced Maintenance Supervisors, you will provide day-to-day support to help keep the manufacturing facility operating safely and efficiently.

This is a physically active, hands-on role suited to someone who is mechanically minded, practical and eager to develop their technical skills in a modern manufacturing environment.

No two days will be the same, with duties ranging from assisting with maintenance activities and machinery setup through to general workshop and factory support.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Maintenance Supervisors with daily maintenance activities.

You will be expected to:

• Maintain clean and organised work areas.

• Follow a Clean As You Go approach.

• Return tools and equipment to their correct locations.

• Remove waste and hazards as you work.

• Correctly wear required PPE.

• Report hazards and safety concerns immediately.

• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working in a manufacturing, workshop or trade environment.

• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.

• Experience safely using power tools.

• A positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic.

• The ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Good communication skills.

• A strong commitment to workplace safety and housekeeping.

• The physical capability to perform manual handling and hands-on duties.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in a trade, workshop or manufacturing environment.

• Mechanical aptitude.

• Current Australian Driver's Licence.

• Current Forklift Licence.

• Full Australian working rights.

• Physically fit and capable of manual work.

• Strong commitment to WHS and safe work practices.

Highly Regarded

• Mechanical trade qualification or trade certificate.

• Experience in injection moulding.

• Welding, grinding or fabrication experience.

• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.

• Experience using maintenance software.

• WHS training or relevant certificates.
