Job summary

Stewart Automotive Group is seeking a results-focused leader to head a team of 5 New Vehicle Sales Consultants in our Sutherland Shire dealership. The role centers on achieving monthly targets, driving volume, and maintaining high customer satisfaction.

You will coach and develop the team, monitor performance, and work closely with manufacturers to ensure standards and profitability. A fast-paced, high-volume environment awaits.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in automotive sales and/or sales management.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
• Strong understanding of volume, gross and sales KPIs.
• Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
• Experience managing, coaching and motivating a sales team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 5 New Vehicle Sales Consultants to exceed dealership targets.
• Drive monthly volume and gross targets and maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.
• Coach, mentor and monitor performance; implement improvements as needed.
• Collaborate with the manufacturer to meet sales objectives and uphold standards.
• Oversee trade-ins, valuations and negotiations; support close of deals.

Job description

You will be responsible for leading and developing a team of 5 New Vehicle Sales Consultants, with a clear focus on achieving and exceeding dealership targets. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who is competitive, commercially focused and passionate about getting the best out of their team.

Key responsibilities

Driving the team to achieve monthly volume and gross targets

Leading from the front and creating a high‑performance sales culture

Coaching, mentoring and developing sales consultants

Monitoring individual and team performance and taking action to improve results

Ensuring a consistent and effective sales process is followed

Working closely with the manufacturer to achieve sales objectives and maintain manufacturer standards

Overseeing vehicle trade‑ins, valuations and negotiations

Supporting the team through negotiations and closing deals

Maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and retention

Analysing sales performance and identifying opportunities to increase volume and profitability

About you

At least 2 years' experience in automotive sales and/or sales management

A proven track record of achieving sales targets

Strong understanding of volume, gross and sales KPIs

Excellent negotiation and closing skills

Experience managing, coaching and motivating a sales team

Strong knowledge of vehicle trade‑ins and valuations

Excellent communication and customer management skills

A competitive mindset and genuine drive to succeed

The ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume dealership environment
