Job summary

Lifestyle Solutions in Tamworth is seeking a dedicated Youth Support Worker to assist young people in care with daily routines, activities, and therapeutic support. You will help build trust, create safe environments, and collaborate on individualised care plans while mentoring youths in their interests and cultural activities.

The role requires empathy, resilience, and a flexible schedule including weekends and overnights.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Youth Work, Child & Family, or Community Services OR willingness to enrol
• Current unrestricted Australian driver’s license and probity clearances
• Empathy, resilience, and a solutions-focused mindset
• Full availability across a range of shifts, including weekends and overnights

Responsibilities

• Supporting young people with daily routines, care, and activities
• Building positive relationships based on trust and respect
• Creating safe, structured therapeutic environments
• Responding calmly to challenges and behavioural needs
• Working collaboratively on individualised care plans
• Mentoring young people to explore interests, hobbies and cultural activities
• Administering medication safely and following individual support plans
• Completing clear and factual handover notes and incident reports
