Job summary

Lifestyle Solutions is seeking a Therapeutic Youth Worker to support young people in care across Maitland and Newcastle. You will help them feel safe, build trust, and believe in their futures in a calm, compassionate environment.

You’ll provide active support, health monitoring, and positive behaviour strategies while working within a safeguarding framework. A diploma or willingness to enrol, and a valid driver’s license, are required. Weekend and overnight availability is essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications or willingness to enrol in a Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services, Disability, Education, Mental Health related field.
• Experience supporting children and/or young people with complex needs.
• Unrestricted driver’s license and reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Active support: meal prep, dressing, transportation, social outings, plan for and achieve daily goals
• Health support: administer and document medication and follow health support plans
• Positive behaviour support: manage behaviours, triggers and escalations
• Safeguarding: ensure safety of you and the young person, documentation and reports

About you:

• Relevant qualifications or willingness to enrol in a Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services, Disability, Education, Mental Healthr related field

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, or challenging life circumstances, creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments to help them develop emotional regulation, life skills, and positive relationships.
