Job summary

Lifestyle Solutions in NSW, Australia, seeks a Therapeutic Youth Worker to support young people in care to feel safe, build trust and believe in their future.

You’ll be part of creating a safe, structured and therapeutic environment where young people can develop life skills and experience positive, consistent relationships, while collaborating on care plans and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Youth Work, Child & Family, or Community Services, or willingness to enrol.
• Probity clearances required.
• Full availability across weekends and overnights.
• Collaborative, solutions-focused approach and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines, care and activities for young people.
• Build positive relationships based on trust, consistency and respect.
• Mentor young people to explore their interests, hobbies and cultural activities.
• Work collaboratively on individualised care plans and maintain clear, factual documentation.
• Administer medication safely and complete handover notes and incident reports when required.

The Role

This is more than simply supporting daily routines. You’ll be part of creating a safe, structured and therapeutic environment where young people can build confidence, develop life skills and experience positive, consistent relationships.

You’ll be:

• Supporting young people with their daily routines, care and activities
• Building positive relationships based on trust, consistency and respect
• Responding calmly to challenges and behavioural needs
• Mentoring young people to explore their interests, hobbies and cultural activities
• Working collaboratively on individualised care plans and maintaining clear, factual documentation

You’ll also administer medication safely, follow individual support plans and complete handover notes and incident reports when required.
