Job summary

Lifestyle Solutions is seeking a Therapeutic Youth Worker to support children and young people in Maitland and Newcastle. You’ll help create safe, stable, and nurturing environments to aid emotional regulation and life skills while building positive relationships.

Role requires compassion, strong communication, flexibility for varied shifts including weekends and overnights, and a willingness to enrol in relevant diploma studies if needed.

Qualifications

• Willingness to enrol in a Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services, Disability, Education or mental health related field.
• Experience supporting children and/or young people with complex needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Empathy, resilience and solutions-focused mindset.
• Unrestricted driver's license.
• Regular availability across shifts, including weekends and overnights.

Responsibilities

• Active support: meal prep, dressing, transportation, social outings, daily goal planning.
• Health support: administer and document medications and health support plans.
• Positive behaviour support: manage behaviours, triggers and escalations.
• Safeguarding: ensure safety and proper reporting/documentation.
