Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District in Kurri Kurri is seeking a casual Ops Assist to provide operational and administrative support to the Theatre Department. You will help with patient movement, equipment transport, theatre setup, and turnover, including ophthalmic laser equipment preparation.

The role collaborates with nurses, surgeons and anaesthetists to ensure efficient daily theatre operations, with on-the-job training available for ophthalmic equipment and infection prevention

Qualifications

• Previous experience in operating theatre or clinical healthcare environment is desirable.
• Experience with perioperative services and handling clinical equipment is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions and develop on-the-job skills, including ophthalmic laser equipment training.

Responsibilities

• Support patient and theatre workflows, transport patients and equipment as required.
• Assist with theatre preparation and turnover of spaces.
• Set up ophthalmic laser equipment for procedures.
• Restock clinical supplies and maintain clean, organised work areas.
• Assist nursing staff with general operational tasks.
