Job summary

NSW Health at Kurri Kurri Hospital is seeking a casual Ops Assistant to support the Operating Theatres. You will assist with patient and theatre workflows, transport patients and equipment, and help prepare and turnover theatre spaces.

Training can be provided for ophthalmic laser equipment setup and perioperative tasks. You will work within a small multidisciplinary perioperative team, reporting to the Theatre Team Leader and NUM, in a busy rural hospital environment that supports skill

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an operating theatre or other clinical healthcare environment would be highly desirable but is not essential.
• Experience in supporting perioperative services, handling clinical equipment and understanding infection prevention and control principles would be advantageous.
• Experience with ophthalmic laser equipment and its setup would be highly regarded but is not essential, as training can be provided on the job.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and administrative support to Kurri Kurri Hospital Operating Theatres to ensure smooth and efficient running of the department.
• Support patient and theatre workflows, transport patients and equipment, assist with theatre space turnover, and set up ophthalmic laser equipment for procedures.
• Restock clinical supplies, maintain clean and organised work areas, and assist nursing staff with general operational tasks.
