Attention to detail, flexibility, time management and the ability to prioritise tasks are important, particularly in a busy perioperative environment where patient flow and theatre efficiency are essential. An understanding of infection prevention and control, safe manual handling and workplace health and safety is also highly desirable.
The most crucial attributes are reliability, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, good work ethic and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
