Job summary

South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking an Operations Assistant to join Bankstown Hospital’s Operating Theatres. You will help with safe patient transport, theatre cleanliness, and positioning, supporting smooth perioperative operations.

Applicants should be prepared for a rotating roster, with focus on infection control and teamwork. Prior theatre experience is valued; training provided as needed. NSW Health offers leave and superannuation.

Qualifications

• Operating theatre experience is preferred or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients to and from operating theatres.
• Maintain theatre cleanliness and support a safe, hygienic environment.
• Assist with safe patient positioning and contribute to theatre workflow.
• Follow workplace health and safety policies and report hazards or incidents promptly.
• Communicate effectively with staff at all levels to support smooth perioperative operations.
