Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Field Service Mechanic to join our on-site field service team supporting the Gunnedah Basin mining region. This 7/7 roster allows local Tamworth candidates or DIDO options with meals and accommodation provided.

You will perform breakdown and preventative tasks, carry out diverse engine repairs, and work autonomously as well as within a strong team, with opportunities to coordinate with major OEMs such as Komatsu, Hitachi and Liebherr.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in heavy diesel or heavy vehicle required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience as a Diesel Mechanic in service and maintenance of heavy diesel products and mining equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform breakdown and preventative tasks.
• Diverse range engine repairs, both major and minor.
• Autonomous work and strong team collaboration; coordinate with OEMs.

We are looking for a talented Field Service Mechanic to join our high performing field service team. The Gunnedah Basin mining region is home to over 170 Cummins High Horsepower engines , powering a range of mining equipment.

This is a 7/7 Roster, for either someone local to Tamworth, or a Drive in, drive out opportunity can be available.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Perform breakdown and preventative tasks
• Diverse range engine repairs, both major and minor
• Working autonomously as well as having the ability to work in a great team environment
• Work with other major OEM’s – Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Relevant trade qualification (Heavy Commercial Vehicle/Heavy Diesel, or Light Vehicle also considered)
• A valid driver’s license
• Experience as a Diesel Mechanic in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products, mining equipment, engines and similar applications is preferred
