Job summary

Hyve Managed Hosting Pty Ltd is expanding its Sydney-based team and seeks a Technical Support Engineer to deploy, administer and support Hyve's managed hosting and private-cloud infrastructure for Australian customers.

You will ensure availability, performance, security and integrity of server, virtualisation, network and storage platforms, while collaborating with engineers across Australia and the UK to deliver high-quality outcomes for our global customer base.

Qualifications

A relevant IT/CS qualification or equivalent experience.
5+ years' experience administering Linux and Windows server environments in production.
Experience with virtualization (VMware, OpenShift/Kubernetes), enterprise networking, storage and security.
Strong troubleshooting and incident-management skills.
Willingness to participate in an on-call / out-of-hours support roster.

Responsibilities

Installing, configuring and maintaining Linux and Windows server operating systems across managed hosting and private-cloud environments.
Administering and maintaining virtualisation and container platforms, including VMware and OpenShift, to ensure availability and performance.
Deploying, managing and maintaining enterprise server infrastructure for customer environments.
Monitoring system performance, capacity and integrity, and resolving faults to meet SLAs.
Configuring and maintaining Active Directory, Exchange and related identity services.
Configuring and maintaining load balancers, firewalls and web security technologies.
Participating in an on-call / out-of-hours support roster.
