Job summary

Clicks IT Recruitment is partnering with a globally recognised mining technology organisation to appoint a Technical Project Manager for a 12 month contract, full-time onsite in Perth. You will lead complex engineering initiatives, coordinating software, systems, test, and product teams to deliver milestones and manage dependencies.

Remote applicants will not be considered. The role requires an engineering background with progression into project leadership, minimum 5 years’ experience

• Engineering background with progression into project or program management
• Minimum 5 years' experience delivering engineering or technology projects
• Experience working directly with software, systems, and test engineering teams
• Strong technical aptitude and the ability to engage credibly with engineers
• Proven ability to coordinate complex technical programs and dependencies
• Experience developing and managing engineering delivery schedules
• Ability to challenge technical estimates and assess delivery risks
• Strong problem-solving and issue-resolution skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
• Ability to influence outcomes and drive collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently and deliver results with minimal supervision
• Strong understanding of project management disciplines, governance, risk, and delivery controls

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from planning through to delivery
• Drive execution across software, systems engineering, test, and product teams
• Partner with schedulers to develop and maintain detailed project plans
• Break down project schedules into actionable engineering deliverables
• Coordinate activities across multiple engineering disciplines
• Track milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies
• Ensure engineering teams deliver against agreed schedules and commitments
• Facilitate collaboration between teams to resolve technical and delivery challenges
• Challenge assumptions, estimates, and delivery plans where required
• Identify and remove barriers impacting project progress
• Drive accountability across engineering teams without direct authority
• Ensure engineering and project governance processes are followed
• Lead project reviews, status reporting, and continuous improvement activities

We're partnering with a globally recognised mining technology organisation seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex engineering initiatives. This role will work closely with software, systems, test, and product engineering teams to drive project execution, manage technical dependencies, and ensure key milestones are achieved. You'll act as the central point of coordination across engineering functions, helping teams stay aligned, remove delivery obstacles, and keep projects on track. This opportunity is ideally suited to someone who started their career in engineering and has successfully transitioned into technical project leadership.

What you'll be doing
