Job summary

Datacom is seeking a Knowledge Specialist to manage and maintain the knowledge base for a defined functional area. You will create, refine and deliver high-quality technical documentation to support internal teams and customers, collaborating with Development Specialists and stakeholders to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with contractual requirements.

Our Australia-based offices encourage face-to-face collaboration while supporting balanced work-from-home arrangements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in technical writing or knowledge management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology or related discipline.
• Knowledge of outsourced IT services and infrastructure project requirements.
• Specialist understanding of technical writing and knowledge management techniques and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the internal knowledge base for a functional area to support operations.
• Write, edit and refine technical documentation including manuals and installation guides.
• Review contributions to ensure unified, consistent documentation.
• Analyse program outlines and technical information to develop manuals and resources.
• Ensure contractual support and documentation requirements are met.
• Improve content templates and authoring style guides.
• Coordinate information architecture and taxonomy structures for effective communication.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks using knowledge management frameworks.
• Support a positive health and safety culture.
