QBE Insurance Group is seeking a Technical Claims Officer in Perth for a 12-month fixed-term, hybrid role. You will provide technical expertise across commercial property claims, coach and develop the claims team, and partner with customers, brokers, loss adjusters and suppliers to ensure efficient claim outcomes.

You will support the Service Manager and broader Commercial team, strengthening capability and ensuring jurisdictional compliance with QBE's claims strategy.

The opportunity

Join QBE as a Technical Claims officer, providing technical expertise across commercial property claims. You will support the Service Manager and the broader Commercial team to strengthen capability across the claims team through coaching and technical guidance.

Your new role

You will support commercial property claims, working with claims officers and external partners, you will help ensure valid claims are assessed and managed effectively and efficiently in line with jurisdictional requirements and QBE claims strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise across commercial property claims.
• Support and mentor Claims Officers to strengthen technical capability.
• Partner with customers, brokers, loss adjusters, builders and suppliers throughout the claims process.
• Support effective and efficient claim assessment and repair outcomes.
• Coach and develop claims team members to build capability.
• Contribute to the claims strategy and achievement of team objectives.

About You

You are an experienced commercial property claims professional who combines strong technical expertise with a solutions-focused and supportive approach. You are confident working through complex claims and periods of change, with the ability to support others while maintaining a professional and empathetic customer focus.

You'll also have

• Extensive experience managing commercial property claims valued at $150,000 or more.
• Previous experience coaching or leading a team.
• Strong technical capability within commercial property claims.
• A focus on improving end-to-end claims management performance.
• A self-motivated and resilient approach, with strong customer empathy and professionalism.
