Job summary

QBE is seeking a Senior Technical Claims Specialist to lead technical guidance across large and complex commercial property claims. You will support the Service Manager and the Commercial Large and Complex team, coaching others and driving capability through expert guidance.

You will handle end-to-end portfolios, mentor Senior Claims Officers, collaborate with brokers, loss adjusters and suppliers, and help ensure efficient claim assessment and repair outcomes while aligning with jurisdictional

Qualifications

• Extensive experience handling large and complex commercial property claims.
• Experience coaching or leading a claims team.
• Proficient in managing ISR (Industrial Special Risks) claims.

The opportunity

Join QBE as a Senior Technical Claims Specialist, providing technical expertise across large and complex commercial property claims. You will support the Service Manager and the broader Commercial Large and Complex team to strengthen capability across the claims team through coaching and technical a guidance.

Your new role

You will support complex and large-value commercial property claims, including Business Interruption and Industrial Special Risks (ISR). Working with senior claims officers and external partners, you will help ensure valid claims are assessed and managed effectively and efficiently in line with jurisdictional requirements and QBE claims strategy.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Provide technical expertise across large and complex commercial property claims.
• Support and mentor Senior Claims Officers to strengthen technical capability.
• Manage an end-to-end portfolio of complex commercial property claims.
• Partner with customers, brokers, loss adjusters, builders and suppliers throughout the claims process.
• Support effective and efficient claim assessment and repair outcomes.
• Coach and develop claims team members to build capability.
• Contribute to the claims strategy and achievement of team objectives.

About You

You are an experienced commercial property claims professional who combines strong technical expertise with a solutions-focused and supportive approach. You are confident working through complex claims and periods of change, with the ability to support others while maintaining a professional and empathetic customer focus.

You'll also have:

• Extensive experience managing large and complex commercial property claims valued at $1 million or more.
• Experience managing ISR claims.
• Previous experience coaching or leading a team.
• Strong technical capability within commercial property claims.
• A focus on improving end-to-end claims management performance.
• A self-motivated and resilient approach, with strong customer empathy and professionalism.
