Succession Partners Pty Ltd in Brisbane is seeking an experienced General Insurance Claims professional to join our in-house team. You will own claims from notification through assessment, negotiate, and settle complex files, with a focus on Commercial Property and Liability.

The role requires at least five years of GI claims experience, strong technical knowledge of policy coverage and settlement, excellent communication, and a proactive, broker‑facing approach.

Working closely with the Claims Manager, you'll manage a varied portfolio of general insurance claims, predominantly across Commercial Property and Liability claims.

Key Duties:

• Take ownership of claims from notification through to assessment, negotiation and settlement.
• Assess complex coverage issues, interpret policy wordings and make sound, commercially minded claims decisions.
• Drive timely, fair resolutions while minimising claims leakage
• Build strong working relationships with brokers, insureds, assessors, loss adjusters and other stakeholders.
• Ensure claims are managed in line with policy requirements, regulatory obligations and delegated authority.
• Contribute to improving claims processes, workflows and systems as the in-house function develops.

About You

• You'll be a technically strong claims professional who is comfortable working autonomously, has sound judgement and understands that great claims management is about more than simply closing files.
• At least five years' general insurance claims experience.
• Strong technical experience across Commercial Property and Liability claims.
• Sound knowledge of policy coverage, exclusions, claims assessment and settlement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive mindset, with a focus on resolution, accountability and broker service.
• Experience with Lloyd's, binding authorities or delegated claims arrangements will be highly regarded.
