Job summary

The Medical Receptionist role is based in a modern, technology-driven specialist practice that heavily uses AI-powered systems and leading medical software. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients, handling enquiries, scheduling appointments and theatre lists, and providing friendly, professional support to clinicians and staff.

Ideal candidates will have prior medical reception experience, strong organisational skills and comfort with new technology.

Qualifications

• Previous medical reception or specialist practice experience
• Experience using Gentu or similar (highly regarded)
• Strong computer skills and confidence learning new technology
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• A caring, positive and professional attitude
• The ability to multitask while remaining calm under pressure
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to contribute to a collaborative team

Responsibilities

• Managing incoming patient enquiries and telephone calls
• Booking appointments and surgical procedures
• Diary management for specialists
• Coordinating theatre lists
• Processing invoices, receipting and patient payments
• Monitoring upcoming appointments to ensure payments and documentation are completed correctly
• Providing exceptional customer service to patients, specialists and colleagues
• General administrative support to the clinical team
