Job summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council is seeking an experienced Team Leader to guide a field-based Parks Maintenance team across the Fraser Coast region. You will lead scheduled and reactive works, coordinate resources, and drive safety, quality and customer-focused service.

The role requires strong leadership, horticultural knowledge, and demonstrated ability to manage field operations and record-keeping within Council systems. A White Card, driver licence and relevant licences are essential.

Qualifications

  • Current Queensland MR Driver Licence
  • Current AC/DC Chemical Distribution Licence
  • Current General Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Demonstrated experience leading a field-based operational team
  • Proven experience delivering horticultural maintenance programs to required standards and timeframes
  • Strong knowledge of WHS requirements, risk management and safe work practices
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to use mobile devices and works management systems to record work activities, timesheets and customer requests

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to lead a field-based Parks Maintenance team delivering scheduled and reactive horticultural maintenance across parks, reserves, gardens and open spaces throughout the Fraser Coast region. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating daily operations, maintaining service standards, supporting a positive team culture and ensuring safe, efficient and customer-focused delivery of works.


What your day will look like:


  • Lead and coordinate scheduled and reactive parks maintenance activities

  • Allocate work, coach staff and support team performance and development

  • Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, risk controls and safe work practices

  • Provide technical guidance on horticultural maintenance, machinery and site issues

  • Coordinate plant, equipment, materials and contractors to maximise efficiency

  • Manage customer requests and maintain accurate records through Council systems
