Job summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council in Hervey Bay is seeking a Water Industry Team Leader for permanent, full-time work. The role covers leadership of water and sewer network operations, maintenance and construction, with on-site oversight and ensure safe, compliant outcomes for the community.

The successful candidate will guide field crews, respond to emergencies, read plans, and manage documentation using digital systems.

Qualifications

  • General Construction Induction (White Card) required.
  • Valid MR licence recognised in Queensland.
  • Refer to role classification contained with Position Description.
  • Demonstrated experience in water industry operations, maintenance and construction.
  • Strong on-site leadership and mentoring capability in a field-based environment.
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety and safe systems of work.
  • Ability to read plans, complete documentation and use digital work systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site water and sewer network operations, maintenance and construction works.

  • Operate and oversee plant and equipment including jetting, vacuum, vehicles and machinery.

Water Industry Team Leader Water and Waste Services Permanent Full Time Hervey Bay Stream C Level BT3 - $78,862 plus superannuation + annualised allowance of $12,635 + 8-day fortnight OR Water Industry Team Leader Stream B Level 7 - $78,862 plus superannuation + annualised allowance of $2,869 + 8-day fortnight

What we are looking for:
  • We are seeking an experienced and motivated Water Industry Team Leader to provide hands-on leadership, technical direction and on-site support to water and sewer network teams.
  • This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality operational, maintenance and construction outcomes for Council and the community.
What your day will look like:
  • Lead on-site water and sewer network operations, maintenance and construction works.
