Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia is seeking a values-driven State Manager, Homelessness to lead homelessness services across Tasmania, including Hobart, driving safety, stability and hope for people in need.

You will strengthen services, build partnerships with government and community stakeholders, ensure high-quality, sustainable programs, embed national frameworks, and lead a high-performing team to deliver outcomes aligned with The Salvation Army’s Model of Care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Social Work, Welfare, Community Development or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant management experience.
• Strong knowledge of the homelessness and/or social housing sector.
• Experience in strategic leadership, service development and operational management.
• Proven ability to build partnerships with government and sector stakeholders.
• Experience with funding opportunities, tenders, governance and risk management.
• Strong people leadership, communication, advocacy and influencing skills.
• Working with Vulnerable People checks.
• Experience participating in relevant community, government or sector bodies.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across all homelessness services in Tasmania.
• Lead service development, growth, funding opportunities and successful tenders.
• Build strong relationships with government, peak bodies and community stakeholders.
• Embed national frameworks, research, evaluation and outcome measurement.
• Ensure effective governance, risk management, financial performance and contractual compliance.
• Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing team and positive organisational culture.
• Represent The Salvation Army across the homelessness sector and advocate for people experiencing homelessness.
• Collaborate across The Salvation Army to strengthen integrated services and client pathways.
