Job summary

Parkdale Secondary College in Melbourne is seeking a classroom teacher to contribute to high quality instruction and student outcomes. The role involves planning, preparing and teaching programs aimed at achieving specific learning targets, with scope to contribute beyond the classroom as experience grows.

Range 2 teachers will mentor colleagues, share expertise, and support school policy development, while using student data to inform teaching practices.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy integration.
• Experience planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating impact.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data for feedback.
• Interpersonal and communication skills; collaboration with students, parents and colleagues.
• Behaviours aligned with Department values and commitment to ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or program.
• Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
