Job summary

DISC is seeking a Systems Engineer in Melbourne to install, configure, maintain and support servers, workstations and network infrastructure underpinning our customers' integrated security systems.

You will engage with field technicians, provide escalation support, document systems, assist with quotes, and support deployment and commissioning at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows Server and desktop environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and service server and computer hardware running Windows operating systems.
• Monitor, maintain and update customer monitoring platforms and software.
• Install, configure and commission Access Control, CCTV and Intercom software platforms.
• Provide technical support to field technicians and act as escalation point.
• Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, networking, database and system integration issues.
• Maintain and update technical documentation for new and existing systems.
• Provide system designs and assistance to sales for quotes.
• Assist project teams during deployment, testing and commissioning.
• Attend customer sites to support installations, upgrades and fault resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and service server and computer hardware running Windows operating systems

• Provide technical support to field technicians, assisting with troubleshooting and acting as the primary IT escalation point
• Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, networking, database and system integration issues
• Maintain and update technical documentation for new and existing systems
• Provide system designs and assistance to sales for technical questions for quotes
• Assist project teams during deployment, testing and commissioning activities
• Attend customer sites when required to support installations, upgrades and fault resolution

About you

• Current Driver's Licence
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and desktop environments
• Sound understanding of networking fundamentals
• A strong troubleshooter with excellent analytical skills
• Comfortable supporting both internal teams and external customers
• Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
