Job summary

Australian Institute of Family Studies – Darlinghurst NSW is seeking a casual employee to support short-term programs in Sydney from 5 January to 31 March 2027. The role is part-time with 25 hours per week in January and 20 hours per week February–March, with 2–3 training days in December.

Responsibilities include assisting arrivals, on-site orientations, and acting as the main contact for a faculty-led program.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native English proficiency.
• Experience living and working in Sydney.
• Reliable internet access.
• Physically in Sydney and available 5 January – 31 March 2027.
• Diverse communication skills with stakeholders.
• Experience managing student services or study/work/travel abroad.
• Experience with international students is a plus.
• Extremely organized, energetic, and self-motivated.
• Tech knowledge of MS Office and SharePoint/OneDrive; social media know‑how.

Responsibilities

• Assist arrivals day as students check into housing.
• Assist on-site orientations and social activities.
• Be the main contact for a faculty-led program for 3 weeks in January; liaise with faculty, students, tour guides, and AIFS office.
• Provide advice, resources, and information to participants.
• Troubleshooting and helping resolve issues as they arise.
• Assist the Sydney Director with placements and employer partners.
• Manage and post to social media.
