EC Controls, part of EC Group, in Sydney seeks a BMS Estimator to work with engineering, project delivery, service and business development to prepare accurate estimates for BMS projects. You will review drawings, develop BOMs, and liaise with suppliers to evaluate pricing and solutions.

Ideal candidates have strong BMS/HVAC knowledge, can interpret drawings, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders while supporting tender submissions and cost-optimisation

Qualifications

• Experience estimating BMS/building automation or HVAC controls projects.
• Strong technical understanding of BMS architectures, field devices, networks and integration.
• Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical and controls drawings.
• Experience with open protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Review drawings, specs and tender docs to prepare accurate BMS estimates.
• Develop detailed bills of materials, labour allowances and cost breakdowns.
• Assess design requirements and validate assumptions with engineering teams.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers for pricing and alternatives.
• Prepare tender submissions, clarifications and value-engineering opportunities.
• Support proposals to ensure competitiveness and alignment with client needs.
• Identify risks, scope gaps and potential cost variations in estimating.
• Maintain understanding of BMS platforms, pricing trends and competitors.
• Contribute to improving estimating tools, templates and processes.
