Job summary

EC Controls is seeking a proactive BMS Project Manager / Project Engineer to deliver end-to-end automation, controls and energy-efficiency solutions for major construction and refurbishment projects in Australia. The role encompasses engineering, programming, commissioning and client handover to achieve high-performing building outcomes.

You will coordinate with builders, mechanical and electrical trades, manage timelines, budgets and variations, and ensure compliance with standards while

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years' experience in BMS, HVAC controls or building automation.
• Knowledge of open-protocol systems (BACnet, Modbus, KNX, LON or similar).
• Experience with major BMS platforms (Schneider EcoStruxure, Tridium/Niagara and Optergy is a plus).
• Strong engineering, diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management ability.

Responsibilities

• Managing BMS projects from concept to completion.
• Coordinating with builders, mechanical contractors, consultants and electrical trades.
• Developing BMS design documentation, control strategies and schematics.
• Engineering, programming and integrating field devices, HVAC equipment and third-party systems.
• Overseeing onsite installation, testing and commissioning.
• Managing timelines, budgets and variations.
• Ensuring compliance with Australian standards and client specifications.
• Providing technical support, troubleshooting and client training.
• Maintaining strong relationships with customers and project partners.
