Metro North Health is seeking a permanent part-time Switchboard Operator to provide a professional and courteous service to staff and customers of the hospital, ensuring appropriate action within suitable timeframes.

The role involves operating switchboard equipment, performing general administrative duties, coordinating pager units, and responding to emergencies with strict adherence to procedures. Flexible working arrangements are offered.

Qualifications

• Operate switchboard equipment professionally and transfer/redirect calls accurately and promptly.
• Perform general administrative duties to support daily switchboard operations.
• Communicate with hospital departments to keep records current for efficient switchboard functioning.
• Coordinate and fault-report pager units across the hospital.
• Use alternative communication systems during emergencies or security responses.
• Identify emergencies from calls and respond per code procedures within set timeframes.

About the rolePermanent part time opportunity to provide a professional and courteous switchboard service to staff and customers of the hospital, ensuring appropriate action and response within suitable timeframes.
