Job summary

Catholic Healthcare Limited is seeking compassionate individuals to assist older Australians to live independently at home in Western Sydney. You will travel across Parramatta, Blacktown, Auburn, Riverstone and Mt Druitt areas to provide in-home support and personal care where trained.

This role accepts both experienced carers and newcomers, with flexible part-time or casual hours. You will join a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to respectful, person-centred care and community wellbeing,

Qualifications

• Experience in home care is welcome but not essential.
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support is preferred.
• A genuine care focus and ability to travel to clients around Western Sydney.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with day-to-day in-home tasks per care plan.
• Transport clients to appointments and shopping.
• Meal preparation for clients.
• Provide social support or respite for family carers.
• Assist with personal care if trained.

Job description

• Hourly rate from $34.50 to $37.00 + superannuation + $1.11 per km
• Experienced and qualified or brand new to the care industry? Both welcome!
• Location - Travelling to visit clients around Western Sydney area ( Parramatta, Blacktown, Auburn, Riverstone & Mt Druitt areas)
• Permanent Part Time or casual roles available - flexible hours and days

We are looking for passionate and caring individuals to make a difference in our clients' lives by assisting them to live at home independently for as long as possible. You will be travelling around Parramatta and surrounding suburbs in a varied and rewarding role - no two days will be the same!!

Day to day role looks like:

• Supporting and connecting with our clients assisting with day to day in home tasks - cleaning, tidying, washing and other tasks within the client's care plan
• Transport to appointments and shopping
• Meal preparation
• Social Support or Respite for family/carers
• Personal care including assistance with showering and dressing (if qualified/fully trained)

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

• A genuine passion for providing high quality care to older Australian's in the community
• To be comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people
• Good communication skills
• To be a reliable team player
• To have an understanding of workplace health and safety
• Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support highly regarded (but not essential)
• An Australian driver's licence and access to a registered motor vehicle (essential)
