Job summary

Still Able Pty Ltd is seeking a Support Worker/Domestic Assistant to provide personalised care to an elderly gentleman in his home. The role requires a mature female carer with an Australian accent to accommodate hearing difficulties and enable clear conversation.

Availability on Thursdays and Fridays is essential. You will offer companionship, help with daily tasks, and support independence while maintaining safety and dignity in a home setting.

• Position Overview:

  As a Support Worker/Domestic Assistant on our team, you will play a vital role in providing personalised care and assistance to individuals within our community. Your responsibilities will include offering support as needed by the client, assisting with daily activities, and promoting independence and well-being.

  This role is supporting an elderly gentleman in his home,and requests a mature female carer with Australian accent as he has hearing difficulties and really wants to have a chat but can't understand other accents now.
  **Must be available on Thursdays and Fridays

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to individuals in accordance with theirindividual needs.
  • Assist with daily tasks such as companionship, meal preparation, transport and community access
  • Foster a supportive and empowering environment that promotes independence and encourages individuals to reach their full potential.
  • Establish positive relationships with individuals, families, and caregivers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and document individual progress, behaviours, and any changes in their well-being.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.

  Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar support worker role is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to support others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts. No week nights or weekends! Woo hoo!
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
