Job summary

Catholic Healthcare is seeking passionate carers to support older Australians to live independently at home. You will travel to clients across Kogarah, Sutherland Shire and Wororona areas in a varied, rewarding role with no two days the same.

Role involves in-home tasks, transport, meal prep, social support, and personal care where trained. Part-time, permanent positions available Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated passion for caring for older Australians in the community.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
• Australian driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with day-to-day in-home tasks (cleaning, tidying, washing).
• Provide transport to appointments and shopping.
• Prepare meals for clients.
• Offer social support or respite for family or carers.
• Provide personal care (showering and dressing if trained).

• Hourly rate from $34.50 to $37.00 + superannuation + $1.11 per km
• Experienced and qualified or brand new to the care industry? Both welcome!
• Location - Travelling to visit clients around Kogarah, Sutherland Shire/ Wororona areas
• Permanent Part Time - Monday, Thursday and Friday

We are looking for passionate and caring individuals to make a difference in our clients' lives by assisting them to live at home independently for as long as possible. You will be travelling around Kogarah, Sutherland Shire/ Wororona areas in a varied and rewarding role - no two days will be the same!!

Day to day role looks like:

• Supporting and connecting with our clients assisting with day to day in home tasks - cleaning, tidying, washing and other tasks within the client's care plan
• Transport to appointments and shopping
• Meal preparation
• Social Support or Respite for family/carers
• Personal care including assistance with showering and dressing (if qualified/fully trained)

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

• A genuine passion for providing high quality care to older Australian's in the community
• To be comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people
• Good communication skills
• To be a reliable team player
• To have an understanding of workplace health and safety
• Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support highly regarded (but not essential)
• An Australian driver's licence and access to a registered motor vehicle (essential)
