Job summary

Claro Disability Services in Melbourne is seeking a compassionate caregiver to support people with complex needs. You will tailor supports to each client’s goals, collaborate with families and health professionals, and help with mobility, daily tasks, and advocacy.

Shifts are Tue/Wed/Sun 8:30am–3pm. Claro offers paid induction, travel between client shifts, a supportive clinical team, and a values-led workplace that welcomes diverse staff and individuals in the broader community.

Responsibilities

• Chat with the client (and family/advocates) to understand goals and routines.
• Help with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and assistive devices as outlined in the plan.
• Watch for changes, follow med/clinical plans, and liaise with the care team if things shift.
• Provide social time and participation, aligning with the client’s interests.
• Support decision-making, respect consent, and boost independence where possible.
• Respect backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of being.

What you’ll do

• Person-centered planning: Chat with the client (and family/advocates), get the know them and understanding of goals and routines.
• Complex physical care: Help with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and devices (wheelchairs, aids, etc.) as outlined in the plan
• Medical supports: Watch for changes, follow med/clinical plans, and liaise with the care team if things shift.
• Social time and participation: Bring meaning, fun, and community access aligned with interests.
• Autonomy and advocacy: Support decision-making, respect consent, boost independence where possible.
• Cultural humility: Respect backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of being

Hours

• Tuesday - 8.30am to 3pm
• Wednesday 8.30am to 3pm
• Sunday- 8.30am to 3pm
