Job summary

Real Community Services in Queensland seeks compassionate support workers to assist an individual with complex physical and communication needs in the Logan region. You will provide hands-on daily living support, prioritising safety, dignity and person-centred care.

Responsibilities include personal care, mobility assistance, meal prep, medication administration, community participation and implementing care plans. A two-person team approach and seizure management awareness are valued.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, reliable and experienced in disability support.
• Experience with complex care needs including epilepsy and dysphagia is valued.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification, NDIS requirements preferred.

We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Support Workers to join our team in the Logan region, supporting an individual with complex physical and communication support needs. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care and helping people achieve meaningful outcomes in their everyday lives.

About the Role

In this position, you will provide comprehensive support across all aspects of daily living, ensuring the participant's health, wellbeing, safety and quality of life are maintained at the highest standard.

Key responsibilities include:

• Personal care
• Assistance with mobility, transfers and positioning
• Meal preparation and mealtime support
• Medication administration
• Community access and social participation
• Implementing individual support plans and therapeutic strategies
• Monitoring and responding to health-related needs, including seizure management

The successful applicant will support an individual with complex care requirements, including physical disability, epilepsy and swallowing difficulties (dysphagia). Staff must be confident in following prescribed mealtime management and seizure management plans.

About You

We are looking for support workers who are:

• Patient, proactive and highly attentive
• Confident supporting people with complex physical support needs
• Skilled at building rapport through non-verbal communication methods
• Dedicated to providing person-centred and strengths-based support
• Reliable, professional and committed to promoting independence and dignity
• Comfortable working as part of a two-person support team
• Experience supporting individuals with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, dysphagia, mobility impairments and alternative communication methods such as Key Word Sign will be highly regarded.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
• Experience working in disability support, complex care or a similar field
