Job summary

Ability Options in Kempsey, NSW is seeking experienced and passionate Support Workers to join our accommodation team on a permanent part-time basis (20 hours per week).

You will provide personal care, support activities of daily living, help participants engage in programs, transport to events and appointments, and complete progress notes. A 24/7 rotating 4-week roster is required; relevant qualification and First Aid are desirable, with background checks and right to work in Australia.

Qualifications

• Ability and willingness to provide personal care and support activities of daily living in a residential setting.
• Experience working with participants with complex medical needs and/or complex behavioural challenges.
• High level of resilience and emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care including toileting, showering, dressing and feeding as required.
• Helping participants explore their interests and hobbies through range of programs and recreational activities.
• Transporting participants to events and appointments.
• Admin duties such as completing progress notes, charts and incidental reports.

The Role

Location:Kempsey, NSW (some travel required across multiple sites)

Employment:Permanent Part-Time (20 hours per week)

Remuneration: $36.22 per hour + Super + Salary Packaging + Penalty Rates

We are currently looking for experienced and passionate Support Workers to join our accommodation team in Kempsey!

As a Support Worker, you will work collaboratively within the team to support and provide service to participants in line with the values of the organisation. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Providing personal care including toileting, showering, dressing and feeding as required.
• Helping participants explore their interests and hobbies through range of programs and recreational activities.
• Transporting participants to events and appointments.
• Admin duties such as completing progress notes, charts and incidental reports.

• Ability and willingness to provide personal care and support activities of daily living in a residential setting
• Experience working with participants with complex medical needs and/or complex behavioural challenges
  
• Ability to work a 24/7 rotating 4 week roster
• Experience working within a SIL home with active nightshifts.
• High level of resilience and emotional intelligence
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated flexibility in methods of alternative and augmentative communication, particularly being able to use active listening skills
• Certificate 3 in Individual Support or related (desirable)
• Have personal mobile device that meets our system requirements which is typically a device released in the last three years
• Satisfactory background checks including NDIS Workers Check(or willingness to obtain)
• Valid First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
