Job summary

Ability Options in Windsor, NSW is seeking energetic and compassionate Support Workers to join our Accommodation Services team on a permanent part-time basis (up to 20 hours per week).

You will provide personal care and support to participants, help with activities, transport to events, and maintain progress notes, while following our values-driven approach to inclusion and empowerment.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide personal care in a residential setting.
• High resilience and emotional intelligence.
• Strong communication and flexible in AAC methods.
• NDIS Worker Check or willingness to obtain.
• First Aid Certificate HLTAID011.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in exploring interests and hobbies through activities.
• Transport participants to events and appointments.
• Complete progress notes, charts and incidental reports.
• Provide personal care including toileting, showering, dressing and feeding as required.

The Role

Location: Windsor, NSW (some travel required across multiple sites).

Employment: Permanent Part-Time (up to 20 hours per week).

Remuneration: $36.22 per hour + super + salary packaging + penalty rates.

We are currently looking for energetic and passionate Support Workers to join our Accommodation Services team in Windsor.

As a Support Worker, you will work collaboratively within the team to support and provide service to participants in line with the values of the organisation. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Helping participants explore their interests and hobbies through range of programs and recreational activities.
• Transporting participants to events and appointments.
• Admin duties such as completing progress notes, charts and incidental reports.
• Providing personal care including toileting, showering, dressing and feeding as required.

Essential Criteria

• Ability and willingness to provide personal care and support activities of daily living in a residential setting.
• High level of resilience and emotional intelligence.
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated flexibility in methods of alternative and augmentative communication, particularly being able to use active listening skills.
• Certificate 3 in Individual Support or related (desirable).
• Current driver licence (minimum P2).
• Have personal mobile device that meets our system requirements which is typically a device released in the last three years.
• Satisfactory background checks including NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011).
