Job summary

Ability Options is seeking energetic and passionate Support Workers to join our Accommodation Services team in Hamlyn Terrace, NSW. You will support participants with daily living activities and participate in a range of programs to promote independence and community inclusion.

Casual role with flexible hours; remuneration is $36.22 per hour plus super, salary packaging and penalty rates. A Certificate III in Individual Support is desirable, along with a current First Aid certificate and NDIS

Qualifications

• Ability and willingness to provide personal care and support activities of daily living in a residential setting.
• High level of resilience and emotional intelligence.
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated flexibility in methods of alternative and augmentative communication, particularly active listening.
• Current driver licence (minimum P2).
• Have personal mobile device that meets our system requirements.
• Satisfactory background checks including NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011).

Responsibilities

• Helping participants explore their interests and hobbies through range of programs and recreational activities.
• Transporting participants to events and appointments.
• Admin duties such as completing progress notes, charts and incidental reports.
• Providing personal care including toileting, showering, dressing and feeding as required.

The Role

Location: Hamlyn Terrace, NSW (some travel required across multiple sites)

• Transporting participants to events and appointments.
• Admin duties such as completing progress notes, charts and incidental reports.
• Providing personal care including toileting, showering, dressing and feeding as required.

Essential Criteria

• Certificate 3 in Individual Support or related (desirable).
• Current driver licence (minimum P2).
• Have personal mobile device that meets our system requirements which is typically a device released in the last three years.
• Satisfactory background checks including NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011).
