Job summary

Uniting is seeking a part-time Home Care Worker (Support Worker) in the Lismore area to provide compassionate in-home care for older adults. You will travel to clients’ homes, supporting independence and quality of life with a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities include help at home, personal care, transport, and social wellbeing activities. Relevant certificates and a valid driver’s license with insured vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent is an advantage.
• Similar experience providing client centred care.
• Current First Aid certificate required.
• Drivers licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Help at home: housekeeping, grocery shopping or meal preparation.
• Personal care: hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, mealtime or medication assistance.
• Transport: appointments or shopping trips.
• Social and wellbeing: accompany clients on outings or assist with Healthy Living for Seniors activities.

  What youll be doing in this role

  AtUnitingwe call our Home Care Workers, 'Support Workers'. In this role, youll provide care and companionship for older people living in their own homes, to help empower their independence and improve their quality of life in theLismore area. Youll be required to travel to clients homes and communities, using your own car.

  With a focus on supporting our clients to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible, duties and responsibilities can include:

  • Help at home:housekeeping, grocery shopping or meal preparation
  • Personal Care:personal hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, help at mealtime or medication administration
  • Transport:appointments or shopping trips
  • Social and wellbeing:accompany clients on outings or assist with our Healthy Living for Seniors activities

  • Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual equivalent an advantage
  • Similar experience providing client centred care
